The Dangers Of Using AI For Your Business
I like to follow other local agencies on social media. It’s nice to keep an eye on the competition and also I quite like to support them when they do something cool – there’s plenty of room for all of us!
One in particular has really impressed me with how frequently they post and the quality of the posts. They put us to shame! I will admit that the content often makes me assume that they have an AI or foreign freelancer doing the post for them, but on the whole I think they’ve been doing great and I’m surprised they haven’t built more of a following from it.
These posts today stood out though. The use of US English vs UK English, the strange wording and the post promoting the “14 Best WordPress Agencies” with them not listed. AI is a great time-saver, but it gets things wrong.
We’ve had something similar in a recent trial of a tool. We’ve been testing something for a sister company that would write a blog a day and automatically post it. The content itself was great, well written and heavily optimised, but the topics were stupid. Similar to this kind of post really – a large percentage of the daily posts were promoting other rival businesses.
One day you’ll be able to trust an AI with your business comms, but I don’t think we’re there yet.
